The Future of Digital Carbon Offsets

About The
Aqualibre Project

Welcome to the Aqualibre Project where “Real World Assets” meet Blockchain Ledger technology.

Our mission is to provide climate change solutions to assist in the drive to a Net Zero Planet by bringing B2B/B2G and B2C relationships into the cryptocurrency and blockchain space, via a new frontier; Carbon offsets and our native token $AQLA.

The Problem

In 2023 temperatures have reached unprecedented levels causing extreme wildfires, storms, floods, and melting polar ice caps and the Carbon markets serve a critical piece of the puzzle to solving this environmental crisis. More action is required from both Governments and Non-Government organisations around the world, businesses and us; humans – We can all play our part.

Limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees centigrade means deploying all known climate change resources worldwide. The global Carbon market expansion is not only required it’s inevitable.

The Carbon Market as they have emerged and developed have been very difficult to navigate, with so many varied prices and projects. Liquidity has also been an issue certainly within the Voluntary Carbon Credit Market. Whilst things are definitely improving, AquaLibre will proactively solve these issues by offering clients a full circle solutions to their emission targets.

What is a Carbon offset?

A carbon offset is a certificate representing exactly one metric tonne of Carbon Dioxide (or other greenhouse gases) reduced or removed from the atmosphere.

In the Voluntary Carbon Market (which we only operate in) demand for Carbon Offsets are generated by individuals, companies, organisations and sub-national Governments who purchase these to mitigate their greenhouse gas emissions made elsewhere to meet emission reduction targets or “net zero” objectives.

The Voluntary Carbon Market is predicted to significantly grow in the coming years with bluechip companies such as BP, Shell, Apple and Microsoft actively seeking to offset their carbon footprints.

Carbon offsets are produced via a number of different sources such as:

  • Renewable Energy; these include Wind, Solar and Hydrogen farms.
  • Nature Conservation known as REDD + is the protection of natural eco- systems mainly rainforests that are under threat from deforestation, illegal logging, fire and mining.
  • Nature Restoration includes afforestation (planting of new trees), protection of coastal eco-systems such as saltmarshes, seagrasses and mangroves from rising seas and plastic pollution.
  • Green Technology such as Direct Air Capture (DAC) which physically sucks carbon out of the atmosphere and locks it away.
